The Bruce Lee Diet is comprised of many different attributing factors that play a role in maintaining a healthy body inside and out. Part of the Bruce Lee diet deals with the types of foods and beverages that are eaten and drank by the individual; however, there are other dietary methods involved that help to bring the diet into alignment.

Avoid Empty Calories

One of the first things to avoid is empty calories; empty calories are what is referred to as refined flour. This can be found in cakes, biscuits and other baked goods. These types of calories do nothing for the body and should be avoided whenever possible. Instead, foods such as spaghetti, rice and pastas should be consumed because the calories and carbohydrates in these types of food are used effectively by the body.

Eat Smaller Portions, Often

The next step in the Bruce Lee Diet is to eat smaller portions of food, but eat more often. What this does is prevent the body’s metabolism from slowing down and storing calories as body fat. The trick is to eat smaller portions of food numerous times throughout the day. This will train the body to not store calories and instead burn them more often when ingested. Some good techniques to practice are to eat up to five smaller meals throughout the day.

Drink Sustainable Energy

Another important factor is energy; sustainable energy is needed when going throughout the rigours of a daily lifestyle. Energy helps one’s alertness and focus on their current tasks. However, it is important to utilize energy that does not make one suffer from a crash later on. As part of the Bruce Lee Diet, Honey and Ginseng can be mixed into a drink for sustainable energy. Bruce, himself would have a drink called Royal Jelly that was comprised of honey from Queen Bees and mixed with Ginseng.

Be Balanced

One of the most important factors for the Bruce Lee Diet is to remember to balance a diet evenly. It’s important to have an adequate level of each one of the food groups and to abstain from sweets, refined sugars and flour as well as other unhealthy foods or substances as much as possible.

It’s important that one balances their diet with a proper level of carbohydrates, an adequate protein level, and a proper level of good fats like Omega 3 fatty acids. Additionally, ideal sources of protein include eggs, milk, cheese, soybeans, nuts and corn. Ideal fats for the body can be found in egg yolk, peanut butter, avocados, various cheeses, Brazil nuts, mackerel and many other types of foods.

Drink Lot’s of Tea

Another benefical thing that one can do is to drink plenty of tea. Tea is very healthy for the body in more than ways than one. Tea is an excellent source of antioxidants and also helps to strengthen the immune system. As part of the Bruce Lee Diet, one can choose a tea of their preference and mix it with a small amount of honey or milk if preferred.

Some teas are better with honey whereas black teas taste good with a small amount of milk and sugar. For example, the black Chinese tea Li-Cha was a favorite of Bruce Lee’s and he liked to mix a small amount of milk and sugar into it.

Integrate Protein

Lastly, another aspect of the Bruce Lee Diet is to integrate a variety of health supplements depending on the specific individual’s goals. For example, protein shakes can be taken to help increase muscle mass along with vitamins and mineral supplements.

Bruce Lee himself drank up to two protein shakes per day in which he would either add a mix of eggs, non-instant powdered milk, wheat germ, bananas, peanut butter, brewers yeast, inositol, granular lechitin and more. He would also take a daily variety of vitamin and mineral supplements.
